Nine year old, Kate, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, wanted a bedroom that would “Wow” her and her friends each time they entered! So when Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Massachusetts and Rhode Island literally came “knocking on her door,” Kate got her wish… and more! Kate and her mom enjoy watching interior decorator Genevieve Gorder on HGTV show “Dear Genevieve”. Kate knew that only Genevieve could redesign her bedroom with that certain “wow” factor. When Gorder received Kate’s request she immediately made plans to fly to Boston to meet the excited Kate and design a room anyone would want to spend time in. The outcome was unbelievable. Genevieve designed a bedroom that Kate truly loves. Kate got her loft bed and the “wow” tween-year feel to her newly designed bedroom and made a new friend in Genevieve in the process!
