Tara's Wish for Bruins Season Tickets

While undergoing treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia, Tara rested quietly but would always awaken to watch Bruins games on television with her brother. “When she was really sick in the hospital, the Bruins were one of the only things that made her smile,” says her mom, Angela. The uplifting power of these games was the catalyst for Tara’s wish request. “There is nothing better than seeing Tara’s excitement each time she goes to a game,” Angela says. Yet Tara found a way to magnify the power of her wish. All season long, she shared her tickets with not just friends and family but also with young oncology patients she met through the Jimmy Fund, “paying it forward” while watching her beloved team play it forward. | ||
Stepping off the Zamboni during a Boston Bruins hockey game, Tara sports team colors and is ready to cheer her B’s on to victory as the game resumes. “That was probably the best thing I’ve ever done!” the eighteen-year-old says about her ride, which was followed by a meet-and-greet with Bruins players. It’s a fantastic moment in a winter of thrills that began when Tara’s wish for Bruins season tickets was granted.
