4th Annual TMC Environmental Golf Tournament On Tuesday, August 28, 2012, TMC Environmental hosted their 4th Annual Golf Tournament to benefit Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Despite the threat of heavy rains, the clouds parted and the sun appeared just in time for the employees and friends of TMC to tee off. An impressive silent auction and lunch reception followed the tournament, and wish father and current Make-A-Wish volunteer Tony, shared his reflections on his daughter’s wish granting and its impact on their family.We are grateful to the employees and friends of TMC Environmental for their commitment to Make-A-Wish and the wish children we serve. Their generous contribution of over $21,000, representing the tournament’s proceeds, is sure to bring smiles to the faces of wish children in the coming months. Team Make-A-Wish Crosses the Finish Line! The 40th Annual New Balance Falmouth Road Race included over 11,000 runners, and among those hitting the pavement on August 11, 2012, were the members of Team Make-A-Wish! James, Edward, Shelby, Bob, Jackie, Tom, Dwayne, Jillian, Patrick, Kristine, Lora, Kristin, Shenaz and John, ran the race on behalf of Make-A-WishMassachusetts and Rhode Island. To date, over $14,000 has been raised as a result of the efforts of our 2012 runners – nearly enough to grant two wishes! 14th Annual Friends of Craig Classic a Hole-in-One for Wishes The beautiful course of the River Bend Country Club was the memorable setting for the 14th Annual Friends of Craig Classic on Saturday, August 11, 2012. Golfers showed that their hearts were full of generosity as they helped raise $17,000 to benefit the wish children of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Following a day on the links, participants enjoyed a sit down dinner, during which they met wish child, Lindsey, who shared with them the story of her wish to meet the cast of Glee. Lindsey's vocal performance topped off a wonderful day! Thank you to the Friends of Craig Committee for their ongoing generosity in supporting Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island!
18th Annual Cottage Park Yacht Club Regatta: Sailing for Wishes! It was clear skies for sailors during the 18th Annual Cottage Park Yacht Club Regatta on Saturday, August 4. Following the race, participants enjoyed a beautiful summer evening dining with fellow Make-A-Wish supporters while former wish recipient and Make-A-Wish volunteer, Andrea, shared her personal wish experience with the audience. Thank you, Cottage Park Yacht Club, for your continued support of Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island and for believing in the life-changing power of a wish fulfilled. Structure Tone’s 4th Annual Benefit for Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island was a Splash!
On Thursday, July 19, Structure Tone, a construction management company, hosted a fundraising event at Splash Ultra Lounge in Boston to benefit Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island. It was a beautiful summer's evening, as guests gathered on the picturesque roof deck as wish mom, Diane, shared her heartwarming experience of the power of a wish for her son, Jack. It was truly a successful evening as Structure Tone raised over $20,000 in celebration of Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island’s 25th Anniversary. Many thanks to Structure Tone and its many supporters for their continued support in helping to fulfill children’s wishes!
Team Kate rides for wishes for 15th year Pedaling 142 miles, 20 cyclists completed the 15th annual Team Kate Bike Ride on July 15 after two days of biking to raise awareness and funds for Make-A-Wish® Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The team’s two-day route through Massachusetts and Rhode Island commemorated the organization’s 25th Anniversary, departing from Boston, weaving through Rhode Island, and concluding in Wilmington, MA, home of the organization’s first wish child, whose wish was granted 25 years ago. In its 15-year history, Team Kate has granted over 40 wishes for Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and we are extremely grateful and proud of the team and its accomplishments over the years. Congratulations and thank you, Team Kate, as well as all of the volunteers, friends, family, sponsors, and donors who helped make the 2012 two-day ride a memorable and moving event! The 12th Annual “Swing for Wishes” to benefit Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island was held on Monday, May 21 at Hopkinton Country Club. Swing for Wishes is a golf tournament hosted by a dedicated committee of Make-A-Wish supporters, led by David Degon and Michael Stowe of Stowe & Degon, LLC in Westborough, Massachusetts. Longtime Make-A-Wish volunteer Susan Sleczkowski has also been a force behind the event since it began back in 2000, and wish dad Kevin Stone joined the committee in 2008 and has contributed greatly to the tournament’s success in raising funds to grant wishes in the community. Thank you to David, Michael, Susan, Kevin, and the entire Swing for Wishes committee for their hard work and commitment to making children’s wishes come true. Cristina, whose wish to meet Taylor Swift was granted in 2011, modeled three spectacular outfits along with over 60 other models. Westfield State University Class Challenge Westfield State University’s Class of 2012 carried on the tradition of supporting Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island by raising over $6,500 to grant a wish. Each class since 2004 has accepted the challenge of granting a wish before graduating. Upcoming classes are well on their way to meeting the challenge. Thank you, 2012 graduates! St. Charles Hotel and the Millbury Lions Club Tom McKenney, owner of the St. Charles Hotel in Millbury, MA, and his employees and customers, along with the Millbury Lions Club, continued their support of Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island by donating $5,000 this spring! Year after year, their contribution increases due in large part to Tom's commitment and the enthusiastic support of his employees and customers, and the Millbury Lions. We truly value their partnership and this tradition of generosity! Chi Omega’s 7th Annual A Pot Full of Wishes! On Saturday, March 24, the Greater Boston Chi Omega Alumnae Chapter surpassed their fundraising goal during their annual A Pot Full of Wishes! event. Having increased their goal to $13,000 for 2012, members of Chi Omega worked diligently to offer an impressive assortment of raffle and auction packages that would appeal to over 200 attendees. Through their fundraising efforts and commitment to the wish children of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Chi Omega raised an impressive $17,500! Thank you to all of the members of the Greater Boston Chi Omega Alumnae Chapter for their continued support of our mission and our wish children! R.W. Sullivan Engineering’s 7th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Charity Auction Employees and friends of R.W. Sullivan Engineering gathered on March 15, 2012, for the Seventh Annual St. Patrick’s Day Charity Auction and enjoyed Irish folk music, a jubilant Irish step dance performance, and an impressive silent auction. With a little “luck of the Irish,” this night raised over $21,000 to help grant the wishes of children facing life-threatening medical conditions. We would like to extend a special thank you to the Stones, a wish family who shared heartfelt reflections on their daughter’s wish experience with attendees, and to R.W. Sullivan Engineering for its incredible commitment to our mission. Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island has been the beneficiary for the past five years of the event, which has raised a cumulative total of over $100,000 for wishes!
